Center for Tribology (CETR) High temperature tribometers are optimized for tribology, or friction and wear studies at different load ranges. Our Tribometers don't use dead hanging weights but instead use servo control motors to maintain and monitor the forces during the test. Tribometer also comes with option of purging chamber with inert gases to prevent sample oxidation.
The high temperature Tribometer uses and multi-sensing technology (measuring in-situ friction force or torque, contact acoustic emission, electrical contact resistance, wear depth, load, temperature, humidity, etc. simultaneously at 200 kHz). CETR offers different models optimised for different load ranges.
High Temperature Nano and Micro Tribometer UMT-2 (from µN, -20 to 1200 C)
UMT-2 is the most versatile micro-tribometer in the world. Its single-platform, multiple-configuration, fully-computerized unique acclaimed modular design can perform practically all common tribological tests on nano and micro scales. Pin on disk, disk on disk, ball on disk, plate on plate, reciprocating and fretting, uni-directional and multi-directional wear, are some of the typical test setups. High Temperature High-Load Heavy-Duty Tribometer UMT-3 (up to 1,200 N, -20 to 1200 C)
The single-platform, multiple-configuration fully-computerized high-load UMT-3 tribometer of the unique acclaimed modular design can perform practically all common tribological tests done by traditional industries such as petroleum, aerospace, automobile, engines, bearings, fasteners, etc. Its robustness has made it the widely used tribometer in the world. It can perform tests per numerous ASTM standards on the same tool.
